Who has to pay to fix home buyer septic tank problems? - Video FAQ 6Continuing the series of video FAQs where off-mains drainage consultant Mark Ward answers the all-important question: who has to pay to fix home buyer septic tank problems? The buyer or the seller?

Video Transcript – Who has to pay to fix home buyer septic tank problems? The buyer or the seller?

Mark Ward: “In terms of whose responsibility the costs fall, often the seller would look to bring the system up to speed, before they actually put the property on the market. But if we’ve been engaged by the buyer, then it may well be a cost that would be negotiated.

But every case is different – it really is down to the individual buyer & seller as to how they wish to move forward. They key thing is that the report gives a clear view as to why the cost exists, and then it’s up to them to decide between them.”
